Trauma Therapist Internship
We accept trainees who are licensed mental health professionals. The program is available as a full-time six-month training on-site or a part-time one year training divided between on-site education and off-site supervision. The requirements are:

Didactic: Essentials of Psychotraumatology Seminar = 20 hours
Practicum: 400 hours (individual therapy = 200; group = 200)
Technical: Hypnosis workshop training at basic level = 20 hours
Experiential: Personal trauma therapy resolving one trauma

 

Psychotraumatology Fellowship
This is a program for graduates at a doctorate level who have a state license. It is available as a full-time program for one year. The requirements are:

Didactic: Essentials of Psychotraumatology Seminar = 20 hours
Practicum: 500 hours (individual = 250, group = 250)
Two regional, national, or international conferences
Technical: Hypnosis workshop, advanced level = 20 hours
Administration / leadership training
Experiential: Personal trauma therapy completed
Research: Presentation at professional conference

Certification in Traumatology by the International Traumatology Institute of the University of South Florida
We are a site licensed by the University of South Florida's International Traumatology Insitute to teach the five courses required for their certification in Traumatology: T1001, Emergency Mental Health: Field Traumatology; T1002, Overview of Treatments for Referral; T1003, Contextual Applications; T1004, Clinical Treatment Skills; and T1005, Practicum in Clinical Traumatology.

T1001 is a three day course. T1002 and T1003 are one day courses. They are offered in Morgantown, West Virginia, twice yearly. T1004 and T1005 are taught together at the TRI clinic with the assistance of voluntary clinic patients. These two courses train participants in the treatment methods of TRI. They are offered at three levels. The basic and advanced courses are offered one weekend per month for three months (42 hours). The Intensive IOP course is offered for two week sessions of 80 hours. There is a maximum of four participants at a time in the Intensive IOP training.

All levels of the T1004 and T1005 courses teach trauma narrative processing by art therapy graphic narrative, resolution of dissociation by video dialogue, video-assisted treatment of victim mythology, use of hemifield goggles for selective brain hemispheric activation, and the use of video dialogue for self-mutilation, auditory hallucinations, and addiction.
