Well, here it is at last--your one-stop shopping center to get all of the buccaneer's works! And yes, some of you mateys have finally convinced the crusty old privateer to start doing some of his work using Fast Tracker (Arr, sez Pete, methinks I still like ScreamTracker better though!) Enjoy!
Note: compositions are listed in reverse chronological order (newest stuff appears first)
| Steeley-Eyed Missle Man | FastTracker | Techno | The title comes from "Apollo 13", where the "Gene (somebody)" character played by Ed Harris tells one of the Mission Control guys, "You, sir, are a steeley-eyed missle man." | |
| 29 Aug 98 | 524 Kb | 3:57 | ||
| Godzilla | FastTracker | Rave | The movie was AWESOME! The ol' "thunder lizard" never had it so good. Raymond Burr (the actor in the original Godzilla movie) would've been shakin' in his boots at the sight of this big bad dude! | |
| 26 Jul 98 | 525 Kb | 5:02 | ||
| Steppin Out | FastTracker | House/Dance | Do you "hi step" when you walk? Before my leg was amputated, I used to walk everywhere. I especially enjoyed "hi-steppin" to some cool piece of music with a snappy beat, like this one. I hope you take this song with you when you go out hi-steppin. | |
| 01 May 98 | 474 Kb | 4:19 | ||
| y2k | FastTracker | Techno | Y2K is just around the corner, maties. It's comin', whether ye believe in it or not. On the stroke o' midnight, December 31st, 1999, we're all gonna turn into pumpkins of a sort. Best start gettin' prepared...NOW! Ya-harrrrrrrr! So sez old Pirate Pete... | |
| 06 Apr 98 | 125 Kb | 4:03 | ||
| Yafeh Y'rushalayem | FastTracker | Techno | The title is Hebrew for "Beautiful Jerusalem." She's the jewel of three major world religions (Judaism, Islam, and Christianity), and the future home of every person on Earth when the King returns to establish His Kingdom. I wanted to give this composition a title that expressed my love for the future Throne of my Master. Unfortunately, my Hebrew is virtually non-existent, so with the help of my friends at Temple Shalom of Wheeling, WV, I came up with this one. | |
| 03 Apr 98 | 528 Kb | 7:14 | ||
| be with me | FastTracker | Inspirational/Spiritual | This church music piece (from the song with the same name by Unknown) moved me so much I had to transcribe it and modify it. | |
| 03 Jan 98 | 106 Kb | 3:10 | ||
| Rush | FastTracker | Techno | Don' have enough energy? This techno tune will keep your fingers snapping and eyes a' poppin. | |
| 03 Jan 98 | 491 Kb | 4:48 | ||
| Where is Thy Sting? | FastTracker | Contemplative | Dedicated to OSU Officer Michael Blankenship, who died in the line of duty, 10 Feb 97. | |
| 03 Jan 98 | 293 Kb | 4:01 | ||
| Honored Dead | FastTracker | Techno | Although I hate war, I believe we must honor those who sacrificed everything for home and country. This song is dedicated to every soldier who put his life on the line for the United States, especially those who fought in Vietnam. | |
| 03 Jan 98 | 382 Kb | 4:52 | ||
| Sounds of "Silence!" | FastTracker | Techno | No, it ain't quite what Simon & Garfunkle had in mind! Be prepared to rock your shoes off. | |
| 11 Nov 97 | 318 Kb | 4:43 | ||
| Vyumbe vyote... | FastTracker | Light Rock | Full title: "Vyumbe vyote vya mungu wetu" It's Swahili for "All Creatures of our God & King" -- I borrowed it from a song by the Christian group "First Call." The voices are all mine. | |
| 11 Nov 97 | 530 Kb | 3:41 | ||
| hopeinen kuu (remix by PP) | ScreamTracker | Jazz | Originally, this tune came from a 20-second piece by Strobo I picked-up on Gryzor's "Mods Anthology I". I fell in love with its "50's private-eye movie" ambience immediately. I reworked it, expanded it, cleaned up the volume envelopes, and tuned a few instruments. I did enough work to consider this my own work. I have no idea what the title means (I assume it's in Finnish, since Strobo is from Finland--anyone speak Finnish?). I just hope it's nothing nasty! Original by Strobo, Remixed 20 Sep 97 by me. Update 20 Oct 97: I was just informed by a Finnish friend that the title means "Silvery Moon"--whew! Had me worried there! ;-) |
|
| 21 Sep 97 | 100 Kb | 2:52 | ||
| Get Smart! | FastTracker | TV/Movie Themes | Sigfried: "Get Schmart!--and don't let him go this time, you nincompoops!" Dedicated to my favorite spoof-spy, the indefatigable Maxwell Smart. Don Adams would not cooperate, so I had to do the voices myself ;-) | |
| 17 Sep 97 | 621 Kb | 2:40 | ||
| Mission Impossible | ScreamTracker | TV/Movie Themes | A tribute to an old T.V. favorite. Lalo Schifrin did it better, but what the hey, my version is pretty good, too! | |
| 05 Sep 97 | 467 Kb | 4:24 | ||
| ocean club (remix by PP) | ScreamTracker | Techno | I was love at first listen with this track by Soul. I just couldn't leave it alone; I loved it so much I had to expand it and add a few of my own goodies (like the bongo track & voice samples, plus a completely new section).) | |
| 04 Sep 97 | 141 Kb | 3:23 | ||
| MOD.A-Dream (Remix by PP) | ScreamTracker | Remixes of classical tunes | I found this tune somewhere on the Web--I don't know who authored it, but it's a remix of a Disney tune (Snow White?). The original mod was only 30 seconds long (I hate mods which have no closure, don't you?) | |
| 01 Sep 97 | 139 Kb | 2:30 | ||
| Purple Sunset | ScreamTracker | Techno | Ok, call me biased, but I think Southern California beaches are the most beautiful in the world (they're not, really, I know this; but they bring back such a flood of warm memories and fuzzy feelings that all the others are just sandboxes in comparison). Let this song whisk you away to your favorite fantasy spt where the nights are always warm, the breezes gentle, and the sunsets purple. | |
| 01 Sep 97 | 408 Kb | 3:12 | ||
| Maranatha Rock | ScreamTracker | Light Rock | I love Jesus. A long time ago, I used to have religious tunes floating around in my head, but since I'm not a musician (technically speaking--I can't play any conventional instrument) I had no way to get the tunes out of my mind. Now I have ScreamnTracker 3.21, the neatest thing since automatic toilet paper dispensers. This isn't your typical "I love Jesus" melody...be prepared to rock! | |
| 14 Aug 97 | 227 Kb | 4:02 | ||
| Big day in little Chinatown | ScreamTracker | Techno | Like the movie "Big Trouble in Little Chinatown"? This tune would fit right in! Not that I expect the producers to beat a path to my door or anything ;-) | |
| 12 Aug 97 | 154 Kb | 2:35 | ||
| Rushing Toward Disaster | ScreamTracker | Contemplative | Many of my tunes have dark or contemplative melody--this isn't because I'm a dark and moody person by nature (although I do get that way at times ;-), it's just the subject matter of most of my songs (as with this one) tend toward themes of an eschatological (i.e., "end times") nature. | |
| 07 Aug 97 | 116 Kb | 2:55 | ||
| Giuseppe's Calling | ScreamTracker | Light Rock | Another song-naming masterpiece by my precious son! I have no idea why he called it this--but then, he's the expert ;-) | |
| 31 Jul 97 | 103 Kb | 4:24 | ||
| Midnight Scream | ScreamTracker | Rave | Next to techno, rave is my favorite mod style. I'm pretty new at it so most of my rave compos follow patterns from other songs closely. | |
| 25 Jul 97 | 189 Kb | 3:57 | ||
| Razmo Remix | ScreamTracker | Techno | I fell in love with this classic Razmo piece as soon as I heard it-- only thing is, 30 seconds were not enough. I had to have MORE! | |
| 15 Jul 97 | 40 Kb | 2:34 | ||
| TechnoQueen | ScreamTracker | Techno | A light rock/techno piece dedicated to one of my favorite groups, Queen. | |
| 14 Jul 97 | 98 Kb | 3:36 | ||
| Aboriginal Dreamscape | ScreamTracker | Alternative | This song made me think about Aboriginal tribal dances. | |
| 11 Jul 97 | 172 Kb | 2:57 | ||
| Beat-Bop | ScreamTracker | Trance | This is BeatBop...Can you feel the beat? | |
| 10 Jul 97 | 214 Kb | 3:25 | ||
| Trapped | FastTracker | Ambient/atmospheric | When my daughter came to visit me the week of June 16-22, she made my life a living hell. As the song title says, I felt trapped... | |
| 22 Jun 97 | 173 Kb | 3:58 | ||
| Party Rock | ScreamTracker | Hard Rock | I never was much for acid or metal rock, but once every blue moon I feel a teensy bit rebellious and get the urge to listen to a heavy rock beat such as this one, with lots of metal 'razz' guitars and a 'bad' (as in 'rad,' 'cool,' 'neat,' 'with it,' 'kickin'') theme (you gotta wonder sometimes about the etymology of our 'modern' vocabulary--if 'bad' is supposed to be 'good,' does 'good' mean 'bad'? ;) | |
| 19 May 97 | 166 Kb | 4:18 | ||
| Catalina Harbor | FastTracker | Contemplative | About 10 years ago, just after I married my wife Sandy, we both had the opportunity to take a sea cruise from Long Beach, California to Catalina Island. The ship took us to Avalon Harbor, a small, idyllic cove on the southeastern side of the island. As dark approached, we hopped onto one of the more popular tourist attractions, a night boat ride along the shoreline, and we watched with joy as dozens of 'flying' fish leapt over and around us. My wife's favorite part of the trip was the trip home, as we sat on the top deck of the boat 'under the stars.' This song brings back those joyful days for both of us. |
|
| 15 May 97 | 269 Kb | 4:38 | ||
| Armageddon Complex | FastTracker | Ambient/atmospheric | I was going for something dark and mysterious here. I'm a firm believer in apocalyptic literature as 'literal truth mixed with metaphor.' I believe we are in the 'end times' as predicted by John in the Book of Revelation. This mod outlines the way I see the end coming about--through nuclear war. Sure, we've made friends with the Russians, but there is still a great possibility that our massive arsenal of nuclear weapons will be put to use--no one knows when or how, but one thing is for sure--The End is coming. When it gets here, I just hope I'm right with the Lord. | |
| 12 May 97 | 347 Kb | 6:05 | ||
| Ringo Rides Again | ScreamTracker | Country | I wrote this song for my Mom on Mother's Day, 1997. She said she wanted something 'country'--this is all I could think of. What the hey, it didn't turn out too bad, eh? | |
| 09 May 97 | 228 Kb | 2:48 | ||
| Celestial Warfare | ScreamTracker | Inspirational/Spiritual | There's a war going on, a celestial war, taking place unseen all around us. This song is dedicated to those celestial warriors who have been assigned by God to protect us from the unseen forces of darkness. | |
| 02 May 97 | 179 Kb | 5:49 | ||
| Reinforcements | FastTracker | Ambient/atmospheric | In the heat of battle, when a platoon of grunts is beset by enemy forces all around, there is no more beautiful words for a company commander to hear than these five: 'Reinforcements are on the way!' There is nothing worse to hear than these 6: 'Hold the line at all cost.' Yet the grunt cares nothing for these words--it is his lot to fight--and die, if necessary. | |
| 20 Apr 97 | 821 Kb | 6:16 | ||
| Flute Loops | ScreamTracker | Trance | My wife and son went on a wild song-naming spree with this one. I asked my wife, 'Didn't you enjoy the flute loop?' Guess what?--the name stuck. Oh well... |
|
| 17 Apr 97 | 85 Kb | 2:45 | ||
| Slam Rock Jamz | FastTracker | Rave | Tracked in a flash of inspiration on 17 Apr 97. I asked my son, 'What do you think I should call this song?' He replied, 'Slam Rock Jamz'--and the name stuck. This is my first real rave mod--everything else has been a mishmash of techno, house, and light rock. |
