Hymn to the Infant Jesus of Prague
  • Oh sweet infant Jesus, we hail Thee Our Savior, our God and our King!  The Word in our flesh dwelling with us Our hearts all adore Thee as we sing.  Though Thou art the great God of Heaven, We exiles on Earth for a while Rejoice in the sweet consolation The light of Thy heavenly smile!

  •
  • Thy Right Hand is raised high to bless us, The world in Thy Left Hand doth lie; Then how can we fail, Lord to hasten To Thee whene'er sorrow is nigh?  Dear Infant of Prague, hear our pray'r.  Forget not Thy promise so true That when we but honor and love Thee, Thy blessings are lavished a-new.

  •
  • O sweetest Child Jesus we love Thee, Our lives mirror Thine every day.  In mercy and justice to others, for then Thou will heed when we pray.  Little King, we all trust in Thy goodness our needs now we place in Thy care.  We know Thou wilt hear us and help us, and let us Thy great blessings share.
Greeting (Celebrant)

Prayer (Recite in Unison)

Heavenly Father, we gather this evening in praise and worship of your Son, Jesus, who came to us by the power of the Holy Spirit being born as an infant to the Virgin Mary.  Grant that we may always strive to follow your Son and be led by him and so share in his promise of eternal life with you in Heaven.  This we ask through Christ our Lord.  Amen,.

Hymn
(sung to the Tune: Ellacombe)

O Jesus King, we crown Thee with diadem most fair.
O'er all Thou reignest solely, Thy might is everywhere.
With pride we tell Thy story, O Wondrous Babe of Prague!
With joy we sing Thy glory, O Little King of Prague.

Raise Thy little hand us all to bless, in our hearts be Thy reign.
That each Cross of our weakness, becomes for us our gain.
By Thine own childhood, Infant Lord, teach us Thy holy way.
Hail, Son of God, Child Most Adored, for all times with us stay.

Novena Prayer

Right side: O dearest Jesus, tenderly loving us, your greatest joy is to dwell amoung us and to bestow your blessings upon us.
Left side: Though we are not worthy that you should behold us with your love, we feel drawn to you, O dear Infant Jesus, because you gladly pardon us and exercise your almighty power over us.
Right side: So many who turned with confidence to you have received graces and had their petitions granted.
Left side: Behold us, in spirit we kneel before your miraculous image on your altar in Prague, and lay open our hearts to you, with our prayers, hopes and especially with the petitions that you may grant an increase of vocations to the priesthood and religious life and those which we hold in the silence of our hearts.

(All Pause to Add Their Own Petitions)

Right Side: Govern us and do with us according to your holy will, for we know that in your divine wisdom and love you ordain everything for the best.
Left Side: Almighty and gracious Infant Jesus, do not withdraw your hand from us, but protect and bless us forever.
All: We pray to you, most holy Infant, in the name of your Blessed Mother Mary who cared for you with such tenderness, and by the great reverence with which St. Joseph carried you in his arms, comfort us and make us happy that we may bless and thank you forever from all our hearts.  Amen.
Prayer (Celebrant)
O miraculous Infant Jesus, here present before your sacred image, we beseech you to look with mercy on us.  Let your tender Heart, so inclined to pity, be softened at our prayers, and grant us that grace for which we ardently implore you.  Take from us all affliction and despair, all trials and misfortunes with which we are laden.  For your sacred Infancy's sake hear our prayers and send us consolation and aid, that we may praise you, with the Father and the Holy Spirit, forever and ever.
All: Amen.

(Recite in Unison)
Father in Heaven, you have made us for yourself; our hearts are restless until they rest in you.  Fulfill this longing through Jesus the bread of life, so that we may witness to him who alone satisfies the hungers of the human family.  By the power of your Spirit lead us to the heavenly table where we may feast on the vision of your glory for ever and ever.  Amen.

God Answers Prayer.

We know not by what methods rare, but this we know...

God Answers Prayer.

We know not when--He sends the word that tells us--fervent prayer is heard.

We know it will come, soon or late, therefore we need to pray and wait.

We know not if the blessing sought will come in just the way we thought.

So leave with him above, all care, because we know...

God Answers Prayer.

During these nine weeks of prayer, O Divine Infant King, Give us the grace not only to pray fervently, but to help spread your gospel by deed as well as word.
