Zela Elementary School is a small rural educational facility that houses 160 students and is located 8 miles west of Summersville, WV. The school is staffed by 13 professionals, 5 service personnel and a principal. Our mission statement indicates that we are looking to provide a well rounded education for our students as well as a safe environment for them to achieve to their most productive levels.

The Faculty of Zela Elementary School is determined to place a strong emphasis on math and reading skills while teaching important thinking and reasoning skills that can be used in areas of education. We also recognize the importance of making students aware of basic survival skills needed in everyday life. Finally, we believe that the need for all members of the school community to feel safe and secure in the learning environment must be present in order for positive and consistent learning to occur on a continuing basis.
